e.l.f. hypes “the velvety, satin texture glides on lips with vibrant color and luminous shine”. I would agree with e.l.f. on the texture. This was one of the least drying lipsticks I’ve ever tried. It felt more like those lip crayons from Tarte that are woefully not vegan. The color was nicely pigmented for an e.l.f. product. Party in the Buff is a peach/pink nude, so it’s hard to say if the color is vibrant. But it’s that nice peach/pink nude that seems to be a staple in every makeup drawer, more of a cool than a warm undertone.
As for luminous shine, perhaps that’s in some of their other colors. This was so matte I felt I had to spice it up with some lip gloss. I’m not a huge fan of the nude makeup craze, but if you are, this is definitely the lipstick and color to try. The only thing that keeps this lipstick from being perfect is that weird taste/smell thing that seems to be in all of e.l.f.’s lip colors. As usual, it’s not a bad pick for the price, but that weird taste/smell will keep it from becoming your go-to lip color.
